Signs of a Problem

Signs of a Problem

When we bought our house nearly a year ago, there were some cracks in this wall, but nowhere near the amount that's there now. Our house is block with the exception of this back room which was an add on using wood frame. Our home inspector said that the cracks were probably just the wood or the foundation settling and that we should check for moisture in the wall then get it re-stuccoed.

Yeah, well, if only it were that easy. Turns out whoever installed this room did a half a$$ed job and put up the studs and stucco, but no plywood. How did they think that was a good idea?!

Needless to say, this is turning into a project. Apparently, the city is a bit behind on approving permits so it might be a couple a weeks before work can begin. Once things start, we'll be without a wall for two days, but the whole job should only take about a week.

By the way, I'm pimping myself out to help pay for this. . .
